With my Bros clipons sitting just under the top ring, the bottom ring is covered by the body of the clipons by a couple mm or so. This could be due to the difference of bars put on the Hawks as the bros clipons are much shorter, but possibly have a taller area where they clamp on to the tubes. There seems to be a difference in the space between the two ring grooves at the top end of the tubes equating to about the difference in total length. I'm not at all upset at the new ones being shorter obviously as I had my old ones about 10mm up in trees any way, but it got me thinking.ĥ1410-MN8-741 for everything else, including 91 AC models *the same as the late 89 models of the Bros* My old pitted ones measure 647 long and the new (to me) 88 Hawk GT ones measure 640mm. Once I got my (I think) stock 88 Bros tubes out and on the bench beside the new ones I noticed a discrepancy in length. OK, so back in April I bought a pair of used 88 Hawk GT fork tubes from a member here and yesterday finally got around to switching them out.
